I just can not understand why the straight people feel that gay marriage is such a thorn in their side. We just want the same rights as every other couple in the United States for crying out loud. The question I ask "straight people" is How would you feel if you took your other halfto the emergency room and you was to go and see how they are doing and you was told you can't see them because family members only now you two have been together for several years, at the same time another peson goes back to see their love one without any questions asked. The worst part is this person passes away and after the funeral their family comes in and takes everything you two worked for while you were together. Leaving you with the funeral bills, hospital bills, and nothing else to remember them by or to start your life without them. This is what a lot of us gay, transgender, lesbian, and bisexual couples deal with everyday. If you straight people are married you can draw the social security,or insurance from their work, and while working your partner can add you to their insurance we can not even start thinking of that unless we find a private insurance company that reconizes same sex couples and pay through the nose for that.
These people stand and look like a deer caught in head lights then they say I never thought of that and if it happen to me I would be devistated and the way my in-laws feel toward me they would do this just to spight me. So think about it before you start yelling about something that will not even consern how you and yours lives.
