2012 is going to be the kind of year predicted by the Mayans for Democrats and Republicans

I spent nearly thirty years working for railroads and I can feel a train wreck coming in 2012. With all the self-inflicted wounds of the Republicans I can't really imagine Obama not winning. We're governed by a) incompetents, b) a new class of political gangsters, c) aristocrats, d) lap dogs of the rich, or e) all of the above and worse.

The two major political parties have forfeited their capacity to govern. As Democrats whimper that economic collapse is a Republican plot, it's getting more and more real for the 25 million unemployed and underemployed.

Unemployment is steadily rising and wages are steadily declining. Republicans are pushing an anti-worker anti-union agenda faster and further than ever before. and Obama is right behind them. Really, who cares what Obama says or thinks or if he evolves or not. It's just not important.

What really matters are the opinions of a whole generation of young GLBT militants and activists, radicalized by the Obama generated defeats of same sex marriage in 2008 in California, Florida and Arizona who took to the streets in nationwide demonstrations that peaked with the 2009 200,000 strong March on Washington.
